About Abbe Turner
Abbe Turner is an entrepreneur, farmer, fundraiser, and local food advocate based in south-central Ohio. Her work bridges agriculture, funding, and community impact, with a long track record of helping food- and farm-based businesses access the resources they need to grow.
Widely recognized for her leadership in food production, local supply chain development, federal grant programs, and agricultural business development, Abbe has helped farmers, ranchers, and food entrepreneurs scale through strategic funding and technical assistance. Her experience spans both national and local work, including serving as a USDA Technical Assistant with the Niche Meat Processors Assistance Network (NMPAN) and in nonprofit leadership with organizations such as Common Greens Ohio.
A professional fundraiser by trade, Abbe has raised funds for public broadcasting, arts organizations, academic institutions, and national parks. She now works as a consultant supporting agricultural, environmental, and nonprofit organizations through business development, strategic planning, and fundraising. Current projects include the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, Rural Action, the Washington State Department of Agriculture, and USDA technical assistance programs.
Abbe holds associate degrees in Viticulture and Enology from Kent State University and a Master’s degree in Arts Policy and Administration from The Ohio State University’s John Glenn School. She farms in Madison County and is happiest in muck boots with a cup of coffee.
